The highly expected machine gun sounds that open this demo from these Finnish thrashing deathsters is short lived as a nice grating guitar sound greets you on the title track. Occasionally the track delves into sludge territory but with a fairly upbeat and catchy riffing stance.
Musically it crosses into thrash due to the guitar riffs style yet the vocals lie firmly within the guttural bark of death metal. The speed is a touch faster initially on “Die Or Obey” with deep throaty vocals. The pace drops suddenly into death doom reminding of very early Katatonia as the atmospheric lead has a delayed drone that works well.
The simply titled “Voices” closes this promising demo with an eerily strummed guitar that unfolds into a sweet harmony before a heavy chugging riff comes in that sounds fairly miserable, though the lead is fairly upbeat. The sporadic changes in pace and riff style add weight to this demo and is worth a quick check on the bands web page.
