Demonical have two stunning releases behind them, and whilst I am admittedly a big fan of this Swedish monster Old School Death Metal collective, for the random listener, there is nothing fake or weak about any of their music. Some of you may notice a couple of members also reside in some another Swedish Death metal bands, namely Diabolical and Interment – there are similarities, but Demonical have a style buried in the classic rotten death coffin.

From the opening few seconds of ‘The Arrival of Armageddon’ you have their intent, you will be pulverised, and you will damn well enjoy it. Taking no prisoners, the guitar sound burns through your speaker; if you read my other reviews of this style of music, then you will know my love for the guitar tone, it is something of pure genius for me. Having a strong vocal ability is also a mandatory requirement in this field, something that is second nature to “Widda" Widgren. But if you are not content with this stunning opener, there are plenty more to choose from, you won’t be struggling to find the good tracks, or skipping any filler tracks, every single piece of rotten music is executed with precision and the production pretty much spot-on bowel destroying rumbling heavy! ‘March for Victory’, ‘Slain Warriors’, all battle ready song titles, reminiscent of the great Dismember’s love for war, but then again, you will find Demonical taking some of their cues from that legendary band, especially from their latter period. Whilst the artwork is a nice touch, the album title, as discussed with one of my peers, is a little weak, but don’t let this detract you. As an added bonus this year, Demonical play London this May (with Feral – another great Death metal band!), make sure you check that out.

But when you balance everything at once, and you don’t have anything critical at all to say about a release, then you will be sure to add it to your top album list of the year. ‘Death Infernal’ is a thunderous juggernaut of classic Swedish Death metal, no triggers, no effects, simply heads down, amps to heavy, the weak will be shown no mercy, another rotten Swedish Death Metal Classic.
