I’m either getting old or listening to brutal death metal has made my warped brain adjust to automatically think the worst about death metal band names. The scrawling indecipherable green mess on the cover was in fact the logo of Inbreeding Rednecks as I erroneously thought the band was called Corpse Molester. I think I prefer my interpretation to be honest. The title track intro to this debut EP had my deathcore checklist lighting up which thankfully was only temporary as these Danish death metal deviants play undisputed brutal death metal with vocals highly reminiscent of Sven from Aborted, being a mixture of guttural roars and hardcore-like screams and shouts. “Participate In This Extinction” is fairly typical of brutal death metal with battering double bass and super quick blasting. The bands technical expertise has glimmers of a modern act like The Black Dahlia Murder as “Robes Made From Virgin Skin” is pure rampaging Aborted cloning which is not necessarily a bad thing especially when the band adds some Dying Fetus technicality to the proceedings.
The intensity seems to increase as the EP progresses once “The Art of Vengeance” is unleashed. There is a mechanical flavour to the songs due to the clicking double bass and clean snare blast. There are some good catchy sections in all the songs courtesy of the chunky short riffing technique but the band never resorts to breakdowns thankfully. The pleasantly titled “Cannibalistic Murder Rape” has a modern death metal riff as a rapid change to double bass kick groove comes through which I’m always a sucker for and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Generally this band has come up with a fairly typical, if a little predictable, brutal death release and is decent enough to set them on the right track.
