Posi-core is positive hardcore and generally straightedge, vegan, socially aware and anti-violence. With a name like ‘Just Fucking Die’ you would be right in thinking that there is little positive in stance about this particular band. In fact their listed influences range from shit to total shit and if you wanted to label them anything you are probably going to have to invent a genre like nihilocore (although a quick check on the interweb shows me that some fucker has already beaten me to that one grrr)!
What we have here are 7 tracks in 12 minutes. Production is low, skill of instrument playing is not exactly noticeable, profanity and anger levels are high and quite honestly listening to these rants it’s pretty much the sort of noisy shit any pissed off cunts with a basic grasp of playing could make. Well did you really expect me to be posi about this? It’s straight up hardcore punk that’s simple in approach, and highlights its aggression with song titles like ‘I Want To Glass You.’
Apparently this consists of pretty much everything the band ever recorded before breaking up and not playing a last gig, so as far as the legacy JFD are leaving behind is concerned, blink and miss this and you will probably be none the wiser. Repeated plays just to make me convinced that this was not utter shit have paid off to some extent and cries of “You cunt, you fucking cunt” at the end of songs have gradually won me over. Awesome scream at the end of the EP too.
