Following the death of drummer Antichristos (Suicide) last year, now a one man project, J. Kohn has ensured that the music of his fallen comrade in arms lives on.
When it is on this record label, you know it will be pretty intense and heavy, unfortunately this is a bloody racket! Only 26 minutes long and covering 13 tracks, there is not a huge amount of technical prowess on this release. It bashes through tracks like ‘Scorching the Monad Firmament’ as if there were no tomorrow, full of violence and their anti-Christian (they do get a hammering don’t they in metal!) torrents of verbal filth. Fast and raw guitars, random drum fills and hyper fast time signatures (all one dimensional) encompass this release. There is a punishing vocal delivery; harsh is the word, pleasant is not the word to describe this at all. Their myspace friends are good comparisons – Manticore and some elements of Gravewurm, but a lot faster. Kvlt I guess, in reality not very pleasing or technically minded at all.
Purveyors of bestial raw energy and primitive records will however love this release. All of the required elements are present. Filth and violence breed in music like this, lo-fi raw production. Prosanctus Inferi populate their world with such filth, whether you care or not is another thing, but the option is certainly staring you in the face and making your ears bleed in every sense of the word.
