Well this lot certainly have an original and interesting name and that is a good part of the battle in a time when practically everything decent has been used countless times. Mind you I don’t think I have seen many albinos in the cannibal, bone shaking, gut-munching films I have seen but that’s a moot point. There is sod all info on this band, their MySpace is very lacking and the slip of paper that came with this just had a couple of details. Firstly this trio (no bassist) only formed earlier this year after meeting in Nottingham’s Old Angel and these three tracks are their first offerings with more apparently being put together for the future.

Essentially the music is death metal with an old school feel, absolutely nothing core about it in the slightest, this is the real deal with horns held aloft description wise to the likes of Krisiun, Immolation and Deicide etc. Vocalist Adam does both gruff and occasionally higher yaps and pulls his parts off convincingly. The instrumentation on tracks like ‘Exhaled By A Hollow God’ is nice and meaty, excuse the pun but there is plenty to sink your teeth into here. Drums batter and guitars unravel into the occasional solo. Production is not bad, a bid on the muddy side but for a first demo it gives a clear indication of things to come. ‘The Weapon’ is a bit more hectic with the drums thumping in a slap-dash fashion and the vocal snarls up a notch. One can see two tribesmen going for it listening to this one, the victor cutting the chest of his fallen foe, grasping the still beating heart and chowing down on it. I love the last song title too ‘Psilocybin Spike Ordeal,’ if you can make it through this pit full of spears high on magic mushrooms without impaling yourself you win, your life! Bit of a bouncy groove to this one and a good solo around the brutal beat. Stick around at the end as there is a fairly atmospheric extra Carpenter-esque keyboard passage too.

All in all this is a pretty good first attempt and once the band get some more practice in and hone their skills they could be a name worth watching out for.
