A new three track EP from hard gigging, big riff merchants Godsized here and it delivers the goods in just the manner you’d expect. There are powerful, melodic vocals from Glen, deep, heartfelt grooves and riffs big enough to flatten your house. Live, Godsized are always a satisfying experience and with this new three tracker they’ve managed to capture those irresistible hard rock grooves on disc very successfully. Mark Mynett’s production is right on the mark, giving Gavin Kerrigan’s bass the huge, booming power it needs to prop up those rich, bulldozing riffs and the vocals are given the wings to soar over the hammering drums. All three tracks lock together coherently but preserve their unique identities with the title track coming out on top for me – although ‘Bleed On The Inside’ is catching up fast in the fave track stakes. It’s about time more people started picking up on Godsized and The Phoney Tough And The Crazy Brave is the perfect ticket to get yourself on board.
